eduroam
Connect. No matter where you are with eduroam.
Imagine a secure wireless network where students, faculty, teachers, staff, researchers, cultural institutions, and government employees could visit each other’s campus and instantly have a secure connection to Wi-Fi without having to connect to a guest network or be concerned about the security level of the provided Wi-Fi. That’s the possibility of eduroam in its ubiquity.
eduroam allows students, researchers, teachers and staff from participating college and K-12 schools to obtain secure Internet connectivity across campus, districts and schools when visiting other participating institutions by simply opening their computing device.

What is eduroam?
eduroam is a global wireless network access service for research and education. An eligible organization (research organization or education-related organization) can provide users (students, researchers, staff, and faculty) with wireless access at participating institutions using their home institution credentials.
HOW DOES IT WORK?

With eduroam installed on your laptop, mobile phone or other device there’s no need to request special accounts or borrow other people’s IDs – just activate your device and you should be online.
eduroam’s secure and privacy-preserving technology means that there is no need to enter usernames and passwords through insecure web browser forms. Your device will identify a valid eduroam access point and log-in automatically. Your password is never shared with any of the access points.
Your password for your online identity is provided to you by your ‘home’ institution – where you are enrolled in study or are employed.

eduroam Support Organizations
Sun Corridor Network is one of three initial Support Organizations (SOs) for eduroam. This means that SCN and Arizona are one of only three current Research and Education Networks (RENs) that can offer eduroam to K12, libraries, and museums for their use. That’s cool because any organization that becomes part of eduroam receives the benefit of its users having secure and instant access at any eduroam site across the world!
eduroam companion app
