Rolando Alvarez is a technology executive, entrepreneur, and innovator with more than 16 years of experience advancing broadband infrastructure, wireless networking, and emerging digital technologies. As Technical Director of Sun Corridor Network (SCN), he leads the organization’s technology strategy and the development of advanced, AI-ready digital infrastructure supporting Arizona’s research, education, and community connectivity ecosystem.
Throughout his career, Rolando has focused on translating emerging technologies into scalable, sustainable infrastructure and operating models. His work spans large-scale fiber and wireless networks, community broadband ecosystems, research cyberinfrastructure, and public-private initiatives that expand connectivity, enable innovation, and strengthen regional economic development.
Rolando holds an MBA and a bachelor’s degree in Electronic Engineering. He brings together technology, entrepreneurship, research, and mission-driven leadership to build infrastructure and organizations that expand opportunity, accelerate innovation, and connect communities to the digital future.
