Sun Corridor Network’s Derek Masseth Appointed to Internet2 Board of Trustees

National org welcomes Derek Masseth to its board to apply Arizona’s digital equity strategies on a national scale

Sun Corridor Network is thrilled to announce that Executive Director Derek Masseth has been appointed to the Internet2 Board of Trustees. Known for his unwavering commitment to advancing broadband access across Arizona, Masseth will now lend his expertise to help shape Internet2’s strategic direction on a national scale. 

As a key player in driving connectivity across underserved areas in Arizona, Derek’s experience aligns closely with Internet2’s mission to provide high-speed, secure internet for educational and research institutions nationwide.

Founded by leading U.S. universities in 1996, Internet2 is a nonprofit consortium that provides high-speed, secure networking and cutting-edge technology resources to research and education institutions across the country. Masseth’s three-year term on the board began on November 1, 2024.

Reflecting on his appointment, he shared, “I’m honored to join the Internet2 Board at a time when expanding broadband access is more important than ever.
